The United States is holding asylum seekers in concentration camps.
California: In February 2019 the LA Times reported about the San Diego border facility Otay Mesa. Men who arrived in the US as asylum seekers are reportedly being forced to work for detention center contractors; they are enslaved. Oddly the facility gets glowing reviews during government inspections. Texas: In June 2019 about 300 children were at last transferred from the detention center in Clint that held some for weeks without access to soap, toothbrushes and clean clothing. Diapers weren't provided, so little kids soiled their pants day after day. Teen moms didn't have the sanitary conditions they needed for nursing. People aged zero to 17 had to sleep under bright lights on concrete floors with only aluminum blankets. Trump's government lawyer argued that conditions were safe and sanitary. Taxpayers paid $775 per night per person. These are just two examples. ICE detains refugees in more than a dozen other detention centers, as well as jails, prisons and shelters. **Many of the residents have relatives in the USA who are willing and legally able to house them. Migrant detention is motivated primarily by profit. ** Who profits from immigrant detention? First, did you know that German towns were initially delighted by the economic boon of concentration camps? And now all sorts of US industries profit... from catering services such as Aramark to phone companies like AT&T. The San Diego detention center with forced labor is managed by CoreCivic. What can you do? A resource to check is the Women's Refugee Commission. Their website suggests donating to a nonprofit, contacting lawmakers and/or becoming a foster parent. You might also be inclined to form/join a sit-in at the detention center nearest you! - Department of Fukiu Please hold. Mr. Trump
handles treason offers in the order received. This fukiu is inspired by the news headline "Trump Campaign Says It Will Handle Foreign Intel Offers On a 'Case-By-Case' Basis." It's not a threat. Even if we could slap him logistically, we would only hit 45 in self-defense. But his lack of transparency is so frustrating. The possible risk of a "distraction war" is unsettling. The imbalance of democratic powers is frightening. Children are caged, missing and dying.
The energy of Trump's Twitter feed is exhausting. And that's a risk... that we get exhausted. So fortify yourself with a hug, then get active!
